Have your children ever asked you or have you pondered why we do certain things at the Mass when we celebrate on each Sunday? Do you know why we stand, why we sit and kneel? Why does the priest wash his hands during the preparation of gifts? Is it because his hands are dirty? I don’t think so! Why do we sing the Psalms? Why does the priest bow in front of and kiss the altar? Why does he pour a few drops of water into the wine? Why, Why, Why?
These questions will be answered at a special Teaching Mass and you will have the opportunity to ask your own questions if you would like. Please join us on Wednesday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the Church. Fr. Bill Hammer will be presiding at this special Mass. During the Mass, at various points he will pause and explain the reason behind all of these rituals.
It just may change the way you worship on Sundays.
