In an apostolic letter “Aperuit illis” issued Sept. 30, Pope Francis declared that the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time will now be known as “Sunday of the Word of God” and will be devoted to the celebration, study and dissemination of the Holy Scriptures.
To honor this occasion, we are inviting you, our parishioners, to bring your family bible to any Mass this weekend to be blessed!
Upon returning home, you are encouraged to participate in the ancient practice known as, “bible enthronement,” by dedicating a special or honored place for your bible to be displayed in your home.
